Students Can Get Amazon Music Unlimited for $1 a Month

If you're a student at a college or university, you can get a year's subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited for $1 a month. That gets you instant access to pretty much any song you want to hear. It's the best music streaming deal you're likely to find on any service.

To take advantage of the deal, you just have to sign up for Prime Student, a membership program that gets you all the regular benefits of Prime, plus a bunch more — for half the price of Prime. You even get the first six months of Prime Student for free. There's really no reason not to do it. Even if you don't want to continue after the six-month free trial, you can cancel your membership before you're charged.

But about that music. Music Unlimited is basically Amazon's answer to Spotify. It gives you unlimited, ad-free access to pretty much any song on the planet. You can stream or download the music to your phone, tablet, or computer. It works seamlessly with any Echo connected to your Amazon account.

After the year runs out, your price for Amazon Music Unlimited only goes up to $4.99 a month for as long as you're still a Prime Student member. That in itself is a discount off the standard price of $7.99.

Even if you don't want to pay $1 a month for Music Unlimited, Prime Student members get free access to Prime Music, a more limited music streaming service. It's also ad-free, but the song selection is smaller (2 million songs vs Amazon Music Unlimited's 75 million songs).

A Prime Student subscription includes a ton of other benefits besides the Amazon Music Unlimited discount. It gets you free two-day shipping on tons of items on Amazon. It gets you free delivery on Grubhub. It gets you unlimited access to Prime Video. You can check out all the benefits here.

Essentially, if you're a student, there's no reason not to try a six-month free Prime Student membership. Once the free trial ends, Prime Student costs $6.49 per month, which is half the price of a standard Prime membership for non-students. If you're eligible, it's worth a try IMO.
