TikTok Will Now Let Your Text-to-Speech Sound Like Chewbacca, C-3PO and More

TikTok will soon let you create posts featuring a range of text-to-speech voiceover options from various Disney characters.

Announced as part of Disney's celebratory Disney+ Day on Twitter (and spotted by Variety), the company's new partnership with TikTok will see a multitude of characters from across its many franchises offer voiceover text-to-speech lines on the social media app.

As reported by Variety, fans will be able to recreate the voices of famous characters such as Chewbacca, C-3PO, and a Stormtrooper from the Star Wars universe while other fan-favorites such as Stitch (from Lilo and Stitch) and Rocket Raccoon (from Guardians of the Galaxy) will also be available.

Adding a character's voice to a post is pretty straightforward. Once you've shot and edited your footage in TikTok, simply tap the 'next' button to take you through to the next page where you'll find text options. Tap 'text' to add text and then 'text to speech' to choose from the variety of voices found on the social media platform.

In addition to announcing the new text-to-speech characters for TikTok, Disney has also made several other reveals in line with its Disney+ day celebrations. A new preview for the company's upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series was released to the streaming app showing off a range of concept art for the show while a new Big Hero 6 series – titled Baymax! – received a Summer 2022 premiere date.

Before the beginning of Disney+ day, the company also gave Star Wars and Marvel fans some early release window news to get excited about. As part of an earnings call, Disney shared its release windows for both Ms. Marvel and Star Wars Andor – though it should be noted that they're still some ways off.
