There's certainly no shortage of Darth Maul collectibles on the market, but Gentle Giant may have just outdone them all. The company is teasing a brand new Darth Maul statue inspired by one of the iconic villain's most memorable appearances.
The Darth Maul Milestones Statue is based on Maul's appearance in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, specifically his showdown with Ahsoka Tano in Season 7's "The Phantom Apprentice." Get a closer look in the slideshow gallery below:
The statue is designed at 1:6 scale and measures roughly 12 inches tall. While clearly inspired by The Clone Wars, the piece looks to be opting for a more realistic take on the character rather than recreating the style of the animated series.
You won't be able to pick up the Darth Maul Milestones Statue just anywhere, however. The statue is limited to 1000 pieces and will be sold exclusively through Gentle Giant's website. Currently, pre-orders are open only for Platinum and Gold-level members of Gentle Giant's Premier Guild. Pre-orders will extend to Silver members on Tuesday, October 5, and will open to the general public on Wednesday, October 6. The statue is expected to ship in Spring 2022.
Gentle Giant will also be releasing a companion Ahsoka Tano Milestones Statue in the near future. Anyone who preorders Darth Maul will be given early access to preorder Ahsoka when the time comes.
We're not surprised Gentle Giant would choose to immortalize Maul and Ahsoka's final Clone Wars battle. We gave "The Phantom Apprentice" a perfect 10 in our original review, saying, "'The Phantom Apprentice" is one of the best – if not the best – episodes of The Clone Wars. It hinges on two of the series' most compelling and well-developed characters, forging a much deeper connection and delivering some terrific fight scenes along the way."
We also ranked the entire "Siege of Mandalore" storyline at the top of our list of the best Clone Wars episodes and story arcs.
