Sounds like 2023 might be a good year for fans of Sony's Spider-Man-centered Marvel universe as Sony Pictures has announced the release dates for two currently untitled Marvel movies coming to theatres that year: June 23, and October 6.
In a press release, Sony announced it has reserved two 2023 dates for untitled Sony./Marvel Universe movies. This is in addition to a third Sony Marvel production that's already been announced for January 13, 2023: Kraven the Hunter.
Without titles or further details, it's impossible to know much more about what these two other films will entail. We do know that Olivia Wilde has a project in the works that may or may not be Spider-Woman, and there have been whispers over the years of other characters in the spotlight like Silver Sable, Black Cat, Nightwatch, Madame Web, and Jackpot. Given the box office success, another Venom movie is also likely in the cards.
The only other known Sony Marvel movie is Mobius slated to be released on January 28, 2022.
Curiously, one of the untitled movies is set for October 6, 2023 — the same date that Disney had until this week planned its own MCU movie. It's possible that this is a collaboration, or that Disney opted to move a release date on their end to steer clear of Sony's own Marvel project dropping that day. Disney also removed a Marvel movie from July 28 in the same update.
For now, there's Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which our review found an improvement on everything from the first movie even if it played things a little safe.
