Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Deleted Scene Reveals Very Different Fate for Razor Fist

Spoilers ahead for the ending of Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

As fans of Star Wars heroine Shaak Ti can attest, sometimes movie characters can live or die based on the whims of a film editor. It turns out Florian Munteanu's MCU villain Razor Fist also falls into that camp.

With Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings now available to stream on Disney+ and hitting Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on November 30, IGN can exclusively debut a new deleted scene from the MCU film. Check it out in the video player above or embedded below to see how Razor Fist's story almost took a drastically different turn:

This particular clip is set during the climax of Shang-Chi, showing us a moment where Razor Fist and Awkwafina's Katy share an unlikely bond over their mutual fear. But unlike in the final cut of the film, here Razor Fist winds up sacrificing his life as he helps Katy fight back against the Dweller-in-Darkness' minions.

Obviously, Marvel wound up going in a very different direction with the character. When we last see him in Shang-Chi's post-credits scene, Razor Fist throws his lot in with Meng'er Zhang's Xialing as she takes command of the Ten Rings organization.

Munteanu previously teased several Razor Fist-focused deleted scenes on the Shang-Chi Blu-ray, including this death scene.

"We had that big end battle, and you [originally] would have seen a bit more there from Razor Fist," Munteanu told ComicBookMovie.com. "I'm looking forward to people seeing that because there was a reason why he replaced his blade with the dragon sword and fights with two swords, but I don't want to spoil too much and I don’t want to give away too much."
