• Everything Everywhere All At Once Returns to Theaters With Eight Minutes of Bloopers

We’re still in the multiverse, it seems. Everything Everywhere All At Once is coming back to theaters yet again on July 29 and will include eight minutes of bloopers and a new introduction from the directors, Deadline reports.

The film stars Michelle Yeoh as a Chinese American woman who finds herself in the middle of an interdimensional rupture that unravels reality, forcing her to become an unlikely hero. She must channel her newfound powers as the fate of the world, and her family, hangs in the balance.

Everything Everywhere All At Once first released in March of this year and took off to arguably become one of the best independent films of all time. It already returned to theatres once back in May after its initial run concluded. It is A24’s highest grossing film ever with a global haul approaching $94M. Other A24 films include horror flicks Hereditary and Midsommar.

We gave Everything Everywhere All At Once a glowing 10/10 review and said the film “encompasses a variety of subjects, but it does justice to each of them with a carefully written script, marvelous performances, and a healthy dose of bizarre humor to counter its bleak story.”

If you’re wanting a taste of what’s to come for the rerelease, last month, we got a look at some of the bloopers from the hit art house film. The film, already a completely bonkers and wild ride, features some incredible action and a number of memorable props – including an animatronic raccoon.

Mortal Kombat Film Sequel Will Reportedly Bring Back Original Director

Mortal Kombat is coming back with a new film sequel, and Simon McQuoid is reportedly slated to direct once again.

According to a report from Deadline, the recent Mortal Kombat reboot will be dusted off and sent back into the arena after a surprisingly successful box office run. A previous report suggested the sequel will be written by Moon Knight head writer Jeremy Slater.

Released last year, Mortal Kombat was McQuoid’s directorial debut and managed to dominate the box office when it was released in theaters and on HBO Max back in April 2021.

Surprisingly, the film debuted at #1 at the box office and is still one of HBO’s most-watched movies.

Mortal Kombat tells the story of Cole Young – a washed-up MMA fighter who is completely unaware of his lineage… and has no idea why he’s being hunted by the assassin known only as Sub-Zero. It’s a new take on a franchise that has seen numerous movies, and to be honest, it’s pretty good.

IGN’s own review called it “an origin story and an Avengers-esque superhero team-up all in one. As a result, the first half stalls out a bit as it backs up a dump truck of exposition, and even then some characters that really deserve more time in the spotlight end up being shallow and forgettable. Still, it finds its footing in the second half and delivers a gleefully cheesy and entertaining take on one of gaming’s most historic franchises and a solid starting point for future films.”

Whether or not any of the original film’s stars will return for Mortal Kombat 2 remains to be seen. But Mehcad Brooks as Jaxx was an inspired bit of casting. Let’s just hope we get an interesting roster for the upcoming sequel.

Mortal Kombat stars Lewis Tan as Cole Young alongside Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Max Huang, Tadanobu Asano, Chin Han, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada.

Simon McQuoid directed the film based on a script by Greg Russo and Dava Callaham.

The deals are pretty good, but at least the Skullcandy ones are set to end Thursday. So grab a pair if you want them sooner rather than later.

Note: While the sale is at Target and the order will be processed by and ship from Target, we're using a special shopping tool that lets you add items to your cart and check out right here on this page. Once the order goes through, Target will process and ship it as usual. Pretty neat.

    Apple AirPod Deals

You really can't go wrong with Apple AirPods. They're all good, and while they work via Bluetooth on any device, they work seamlessly with Apple products like iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

If you have the cash, I'd definitely recommend going with AirPods Pro. They offer active noise cancellationn that works so well I regularly listen to podcasts while I mow the lawn — something you definitely can't do with the other models.

Regardless of which ones you get, they all deliver wireless sound and voice input from your devices, whether you're talking on the phone, jamming out to music, or listening to a true crime podcast.

    Skullcandy Headphone Deals

Skullcandy headphones and earbuds are also on sale. They sound excellent and add a dash of class any style to any outfit.

Michael Mann’s Heat 2 ‘Already Underway’

Michael Mann’s new book Heat 2 is already being turned into a film.

During an interview with Marc Maron on the WTF Podcast (via Playlist) the 79-year-old filmmaker revealed that his upcoming Heat sequel is already underway.

“Yes,” he said when asked whether the film was in the works. “I can’t talk about it, but yes.”

“This is a book, but it’s also going to be a very large movie,” he explained.

Heat 2 has been in the works for some time and will be heading our way in book form this August.

Although described as a sequel, Heat 2 is actually more of a prequel, telling the story of Detective Vincent Hanna (who is played by Al Pacino in the original film) as well as Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro), Chris Shiherlis (Val Kilmer), and Nate (Jon Voight) long before the events of the first film.

Mann certainly hasn’t been shy about this passion project, previously explaining that he wanted to turn the book into a film. But what does it mean that this process is underway? It’s likely that Mann is currently working on the script. After all, there’s been no official announcement about the project and it’s likely still in the very early stages.

Still, fans of the original film will likely be ecstatic… Even if Robert DeNiro and Val Kilmer won’t be back.

“I love those guys,” he said. “But they’d have to be six years younger than they were in Heat.”

As for who will join the cast, it’s very early days. But it looks as though Mann will be on the lookout for younger versions of Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, Val Kilmer, and Jon Voight. A tall order, for sure.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t resort to digitally de-aging anyone. We already know how that went down with DeNiro…

Meanwhile, Mann will next be seen bringing Ferrari to the big screen, with Hugh Jackman joining the upcoming biopic as Enzo Ferrari following Christian Bale’s earlier exit.

Wes Anderson’s Next Film Is a ‘Poetic Meditation’ Called Asteroid City

Famed director Wes Anderson is bringing a film of “poetic meditation on the meaning of life” to screens called Asteroid City. The film partners Anderson as director with Focus Features, who he last collaborated with for Moonrise Kingdom in 2012.

Asteroid City is written by both Anderson and his Moonrise Kingdom co-writer Roman Coppola. The film tells the story of a fictional American desert town circa 1955 and its Junior Stargazer convention, which brings together students and parents from across the country for scholarly competition, rest/recreation, comedy, drama, romance, and more.

“We are beyond thrilled to be the global home for Asteroid City, bringing Focus back in business with Wes and his producing partners. Wes is a generational talent whose films delight audiences around the world; and we’re sure that the combination of his incredibly emotional story and vision combined with the insanely talented group of actors he has assembled, will mean that Asteroid City will be no different,” said Peter Kujawski, Chairman of Focus Features.

In true Anderson fashion, the film features a cast of well known names. The star studded cast includes Margot Robbie, Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, and many others.

Earlier this year, Netflix revealed Anderson was lending his directorial talents to The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, based on a tale from Roald Dahl. Previously, Anderson had directed the stop motion film adaptation of Fantastic Mr. Fox, another Dahl story. Most recently Anderson directed The French Dispatch which we called “a whimsical homage to The New Yorker in one of his most richly detailed and thoughtful movies.”
