Free Guy is a new movie starring Ryan Reynolds that's set to open this week exclusively in theaters. It's comedy about a bank teller, played by Reynolds, who discovers that he's an NPC (non-playable character) in a video game. Worse yet, the game he's in, Free City, is scheduled to go offline soon. That amounts to a looming apocalyptic event for him, so he breaks free of his programming and tries to save the city.

What Is Free Guy About?
Free Guy is about a bank teller named Guy, played by Ryan Reynolds, who lives in a city in which madcap action is constantly happening. People fire rocket launchers in the streets. Stores get robbed constantly. Think Grand Theft Auto. This is just life as normal for Guy — until a woman named Millie/Mologov Girl, played by Jodie Comer, enters the bank one day to set him free.
Millie hands Guy glasses that, when he puts them on, show the HUD for the video game he's living in. Unfortunately for Guy, the creator of the game, played by Taika Waititi, is planning to shut it down for good, which would effectively end the lives of Guy and everyone else in the city. It's up to Guy and Millie to rally the rest of the NPC citizens and save the day.
What is Free Guy Rated?
Free Guy is rated PG-13 by the MPAA.
