FX on Hulu has released the first trailer for its upcoming Y: The Last Man series and it features Yorick and his monkey, of course, alongside a healthy heaping of violence.
That's to be expected, as any Y: The Last Man comic fan knows, but for the uninitiated, this trailer is a great start for understanding the world of this story. Put simply, any mammal with a Y-chromosome dies suddenly in a worldwide event except for one man: Yorick Brown (and his monkey Ampersand).

You can see Ben Schnetzer as Yorick in the trailer alongside his trusty Capuchin monkey. Other members of the cast include Ashley Romans as Agent 355 and Diane Lane as senator-turned-president Jennifer Brown, who also happens to be Yorick's mother.
Fortunately, the trailer doesn't reveal too much about the overarching story of Y: The Last Man, although it does show what the beginning of the Y-chromosome-decimating event looks like.
Y: The Last Man will premiere exclusively on FX on Hulu on September 13 and it will follow the now-complete story of Y: The Last Man created by Brian K. Vaughn and Pia Guerra for DC Comics' now-defunct Vertigo comics arm.
