Arcane, Netflix’s League of Legends Animated Series, Is Officially Getting a Second Season

Netflix and Riot Games have officially announced that Season 2 of the League of Legends animated series Arcane is on its way.

While there weren't many details given regarding this new season, it has been confirmed that Hailee Steinfeld's Vi, Ella Purnell's Jinx, and Caitlyn Kiramman will all reprise their roles for this continued story. Their voices were featured in a short teaser that was released alongside the Season 2 announcement.

This news shouldn't come as too much of a surprise considering the overwhelmingly positive reception Arcane has received since it made its premiere on November 6, 2021. It's also currently sitting as the #2 spot on Netflix's Global Top 10 list of English language TV shows.

We also sung Arcane's praises in our review and awarded it a rare 10/10 score, saying, "Arcane is the first video game adaptation that’s truly a masterpiece, breaking new ground for what’s possible in TV animation."

Season 2 of Arcane will be brought to us by Riot Games, with Fortiche Productions returning for its animation. The series was created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, and Linke will serve as executive producer alongside Marc Merrill, Brandon Beck, Jane Chung, and Thomas Vu.

"We're beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane's first season and are working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second installment," said Arcane co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee.

If that isn't enough Arcane excitement, Riot is currently celebrating its premiere with a full month celebration across all its biggest games in an event called RiotX Arcane. These celebrations include free Arcane skins in League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra will add a new permanent mode called The Path of Champions, Valorant will offer a free RiotX Arcane Pass, and more.
