Ant-Man Has Now Officially Responded to the ‘Why Didn’t You Fly Up Thanos’ Butt?’ Question

Scott Lang, better known by his superhero alias Ant-Man, has issued an official response to a topic that's proven controversial in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Why didn't he just fly up Thanos's butt and expand to kill him?

The Disney Wish cruise line will soon set sail for the first time, and includes (alongside a Star Wars section that sells a $5,000 cocktail) a Marvel-themed dining experience called Avengers: Quantum Encounter. Ant-Man (played by Paul Rudd) and the Wasp (played by Evangeline Lilly) appear in an introduction video to welcome fans to the experience, in which Rudd gives the long-awaited answer in character.

"Before we start, let me address the elephant in the room," Rudd said in the video shared by Culture Crave on Twitter (below). "I've heard a lot of chatter out there asking why I didn't shrink down, go in, and kill Thanos in a really creative way. First of all, gross. Secondly, it's much more complicated than that. Allow me to explain…"

It's at this point Rudd is cut off by Lilly, who swiftly moves things along, but perhaps the first answer is a sufficient enough explanation.

The Avengers: Quantum Encounter experience otherwise includes a meal, throughout which diners will view a presentation of some of the MCU's greatest technology including Iron Man's arc reactor, Captain America's shield, and Ant-Man's Pym Particles. The attraction also includes Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, and Sam Wilson's new Captain America (previously Falcon).

Fans last saw Ant-Man in action back in Avengers: Endgame, with the microscopic hero staying out of sight until Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which premieres on February 17 next year. The MCU hasn't slowed down at all overall though, with Moon Knight recently wrapping up on Disney+, the Ms. Marvel series currently in full swing, and Thor: Love and Thunder right around the corner.
