First Look of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser’s Lightsaber and Bridge Training Revealed

Disney has shared the first look of Lightsaber and Bridge Training aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser – the two-night, immersive Star Wars hotel experience opening next year at Walt Disney World.

Shared as part of today's Destination D23 presentation, Disney Parks, Experience and Products Chairman Josh D'Amaro gave fans of that galaxy far, far away a glimpse of how lightsabers will be part of their Galactic Starcruiser adventure.

As shown in the video, guests will enter a room and will be given a lightsaber to train against a wall-mounted training remote. It appears there will be beams of light that can be seen through smoke in the room to simulate where the remote will be firing. It looks to start off slow, but it quickly speeds up and will truly test your skill as a Jedi.

Following that demo, D'Amaro showed a bit of what Bridge Training will look like aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Guests will be able to visit the bridge of the Halcyon – the name of the ship this experience takes place on – and will be trained in the ways of navigation, power, defense, and other critical systems.

You will get a chance to press the buttons and levers and keep the Halcyon on track and safe from the First Order. Speaking of the First Order, you will have to defend the ship by controlling the weapons and firing at enemies on a massive screen that simulates a window out into space.

This first look follows our preview of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, where we got to see first-hand what guests will get to be part of when it opens on March 1, 2022.
