New information suggests that Dragon Age 4 will only be launching for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
As shared by Twitter user Faizan Shaikh, experience listed on the LinkedIn profile for Dragon Age 4's Lead Player Designer Daniel Nordlander seems to suggest that the game will only feature as a console release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with older generations set to miss out.

While Nordlander is no longer with Bioware – he left in 2020 to work as the Game Director on Godfall for Counterplay Games – GamesBeat's Jeff Grubb also separately reports to have confirmed rumors that EA is planning a next-gen only console release for the game. At present, however, it should be noted that the publisher has not publicly commented on which consoles that Dragon Age 4 will release for.
With little currently known about Dragon Age 4, and the game yet to receive an official release date, it might not come as a massive surprise to fans that the game may only be launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S (as well as PC, of course). Although EA is yet to move other franchises exclusively over to next-gen consoles, Dragon Age 4 could very well still be a way off, and the publisher has already shown at present that it's ready to start distinguishing between console generations in other games.
EA's release of Madden 22, for example, included Dynamic Gameday features that were included for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S users, but not those on last-gen consoles. In a similar fashion, the studio's upcoming release of Battlefield 2042 will see notable differences between its next-gen and last-gen counterparts. Multiplayer battles in the game are confirmed to support up to 64 players on Xbox One and PS4, while the latest consoles increase that number to 128 players.
EA showed off its first Dragon Age 4 teaser at The Game Awards 2018, followed by a behind-the-scenes look during Gamescom 2020. BioWare then debuted a newer trailer for the game at The Game Awards last year. While many fans hoped that the game would make a further appearance at this year's EA Play, it wasn't to be the case.
